At Nourish Catering, we are committed to making our website accessible to everyone, including individuals with disabilities. We believe that all people are created in the image of God and deserve equitable access to information and online services.

What web accessibility is

An accessible site allows visitors with disabilities to browse the site with the same or a similar level of ease and enjoyment as other visitors. This can be achieved with the capabilities of the system on which the site is operating, and through assistive technologies.

Standards and Legal Requirements

  • We strive to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, which is the standard increasingly recognized under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and recommended for public-facing websites. 

  • In Oklahoma, the Electronic Information Technology Accessibility (EITA) Act requires state entities to follow accessibility standards similar to Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. While Nourish Catering is a private ministry/business, we use these standards as benchmarks for our digital content and tools.

Measures We Take

To ensure our website is accessible, we are taking or have taken the following steps:

  • Providing descriptive alt text for images so screen readers can convey the content to users with visual impairments.

  • Ensuring sufficient contrast between text and background to support users with low vision or color blindness.

  • Designing the site with clear navigation that can be used via keyboard alone (tab navigation), and avoiding features that trap keyboard users.

  • Structuring content with headings, lists, and semantic HTML so that content order and hierarchy are preserved.

  • Ensuring forms and interactive elements have labels, instructions, and clear error messages.

  • Using responsive design to ensure that the site works well on a variety of devices, including mobiles and tablets.

  • Regularly auditing the site for accessibility using both automated tools and human review.

Limitations & How We’re Improving

While we try to make all content accessible and usable, we recognize there may be limitations. Some older content, third-party tools, or embedded items may not fully meet all WCAG 2.1 AA criteria yet. Where we find gaps, we are committed to:

  • Prioritizing remediation of high-impact issues (e.g. navigation, usability issues).

  • Working with third-party content providers to improve accessibility.

  • Updating our website and materials to meet ongoing or newly published accessibility standards.
